Today, some of our chicken eggs finally started hatching, and we welcomed several adorable baby chicks! 🐣🐔 I had placed two hens for brooding, but later three more hens started laying eggs and sitting on them. Because the hens were brooding at different times, the eggs hatched at different times as well. Today, I separated the hens and their newly hatched chicks to keep them safe. Unfortunately, after putting the chicks in a cage, one baby chick was eaten by a larger chicken. 😢 So, I changed the setup and separated the larger chickens by keeping them underneath while keeping my own chickens safely above.
