At Terreiro da Luta is the Nossa Senhora da Paz monument, which is dedicated to Our Lady of the Monte as thanksgiving for peace returning to Madeira at the end of the First World War. It is the tallest monument on Madeira, reaching over 5 metres in height. Also at your destination is the old railway terminal building that once served the Funchal - Monte - Terreiro da Luta railway.
