[Project] Tuba: Penn "Capriccio for Tuba and Marimba"

This week's [Project] Tuba submission is a performance of the "Capriccio for Tuba and Marimba" by William Penn. I've known about this piece for over a decade, having heard it for the first time on Gene Pokorny's "Big Boy" album. I was blown away by Gene's playing and the piece itself. When I bought the piece, the music came with a nice digital accompaniment in the event the performer wants to perform it as a piece for tuba and tape. With the pandemic in the air, I present this version as a virtual offering of this great piece of music. William Penn is a versatile composer, who has written for Broadway, off-Broadway, feature film, and radio. I love the excitement of his melodies and his purposeful thematic usage, which is reminiscent of movie music in my opinion. I hope you enjoy this wonderful composition!
