What happens when a young Bretonnian knight has nothing left but his sword, his oath… and his faith in the Lady of the Lake? The song is inspired by Gav Thorpe’s “Tybalt’s Quest”. The story follows the young Bretonnian knight Tybalt as he investigates an ancient and forgotten cemetery in the Grey Mountains. There he encounters the spirit of Duke Laroche and learns that a necromancer is disturbing the resting place of the dead. With Laroche’s aid, his own sword and his faith in the Lady of the Lake, Tybalt must confront the risen dead and defend a place whose honour has been forgotten by the living. What I loved about the story was that it never felt like it was only about killing undead. Beneath the swords, graves and necromancy, there is something very Bretonnian about it: faith, duty, memory and the belief that a knight should stand his ground even when standing alone is a spectacularly bad idea. And because this is Bretonnia, naturally one knight considers himself an entirely reasonable response to a necromancer and his army of corpses. For the Lady of the Lake, the Grail, Gilles le Breton, Mousillon, Montfort and Couronne! The knights of Bretonnia lived for honour, glory, destiny and the chance to prove themselves worthy through quests, battle and sacrifice. For many of them, the Lady of the Lake was far more than a distant goddess — she represented the highest ideal of Bretonnian chivalry. Her blessing guided knights on their quests, her favour was tied to the mystery of the Holy Grail, and the greatest warriors of Bretonnia dreamed of becoming Grail Knights in her service. That mixture of faith and martial pride became the heart of this song: a knight surrounded by graves, facing Undead and dark sorcery, with nothing but steel, an oath and the belief that the Lady is still watching. In true Bretonnian fashion, one knight facing an army of the rising dead is apparently considered a perfectly reasonable plan. This song was created using SUNO.AI. Lyrics by Myhammerblog. It is a fan-made tribute to Warhammer Fantasy, Bretonnia, The Old World, Gav Thorpe’s “Tybalt’s Quest,” the Lady of the Lake, Bretonnian Knights, Grail Knights, Undead, Necromancers and the dark medieval fantasy atmosphere of the Warhammer world. #WarhammerFantasy #WarhammerTheOldWorld #TheOldWorld #Bretonnia #BretonnianKnight #LadyOfTheLake #GrailKnight #GillesLeBreton #GreenKnight #TybaltQuest #GavThorpe #DukeLaroche #Mousillon #Montfort #Couronne #Undead #Necromancer #Necromancy #WarhammerLore #WarhammerMusic #FantasyMusic #MedievalMetal #HeavyMetal #HardRock #PowerBallad #DarkFantasy #SunoAI #Myhammerblog #FanMadeMusic LADY, LEND ME STRENGTH [Verse 1] Through the Grey Mountains, past old Montfort stone, I rode where forgotten Bretonnian heroes lie. The folk spoke of ghouls and a graveyard alone, But a knight of the Lady does not turn aside. I knelt with my sword in the cold misty ground: “O Lady of the Lake, let my courage hold sound.” [Chorus] Lady, lend me strength when the dead arise, By Grail and by blood, let the darkness die, Through forgotten graves where the black shadows spread, Let my faith be the blade that delivers the dead. [Verse 2] In Laroche’s tomb stood a warrior’s shade, He spoke of Mousillon and the vows he had made. Of Gilles le Breton and the honour of old: “Take now my silver — stand fearless and bold.” I wore the dead duke’s helm for Bretonnia’s sake, And followed the whispers no mortal should wake. [Chorus] Lady, lend me strength when the dead arise, By Grail and by blood, let the darkness die, Let Laroche stand beside me though centuries divide, And the honour of Couronne march at my side. [Verse 3] The necromancer laughed as the graves split apart, Dead warriors rose as his witchfire grew dark. An axe tore my flesh, but I answered with steel, And shattered the bones gathering at my heel. Then white fire roared — yet the silver stayed cold. Like the Green Knight of legend, through flame I strode. No army behind me. No Grail Knight beside. Only the Lady, My honour, my pride. By Gilles and Grail — One knight will not hide. [Chorus ] Lady, lend me strength when the dead arise, By Grail and by blood, let the darkness die, Now the dawn crowns the tombs where the darkness once reigned, And the names of the fallen are honoured again.
