You’ve seen the roulette systems that “win 99% of the time”. I tested every popular one on 100 million simulated trips to the casino. The table: A European wheel: 37 pockets, 0 and 1–36, 18 red and 18 black. Even-money bets pay 1 to 1, a dozen 2 to 1, a six-line 5 to 1, a single number 35 to 1. Zero loses every outside bet. Table maximum $500 per bet. Every trip is one night with $1,000. The player walks away as soon as it is $100 ahead, after 200 spins (about 4 to 5 hours), or when it can’t afford its next bet. A progression that would break the table limit or the remaining money starts over from its first bet. Every system plays exactly the same spins, so every comparison is fair. The systems: • Martingale: double after every loss • Martingale, walking away after winning $10 • Martingale with $10,000 instead of $1,000 • Grand Martingale: double plus $5 after every loss • Martingale with a stop-loss after 5 losses in a row • Reverse Martingale (Paroli) • D’Alembert • Fibonacci • Labouchère (1-2-3-4) • Oscar’s Grind • 1-3-2-6 • James Bond: $140 on 19–36, $50 on 13–18, $10 on zero • Covering 35 of the 37 numbers • Two dozens, tripled after a loss • Waiting for 5 reds in a row, then a martingale on black • The hot number: betting the last number that came up • One spin: $100 on red, then walk away • Flat $5 on red, with and without a profit goal • A control: a copy of the flat bettor on different spins, to show the simulation is fair 20 systems × 5,000,000 nights = 100,000,000 simulated nights at the casino. Each system’s nights are also strung together into years and decades of weekly casino visits. Extra tests outside the 100 million: an American wheel (0 and 00) and a $5,000 table maximum. Checks: A separate, plain version of every system replays sessions and matches the simulator exactly. The wheel passes a fairness test. The money lost per dollar bet matches the house edge. Limits: A fair wheel. One table limit for every bet type. A $5 minimum bet. No comps, tips or taxes. Players follow their system exactly. The $100 goal and the 200-spin night are assumptions. Sources: standard European and American roulette rules and payouts; the house edge of 1/37 (single zero) and 2/38 (double zero). DISCLAIMER This video is for entertainment and educational purposes only. It is not financial, betting or legal advice, and nothing in it encourages you to gamble. All results come from a computer simulation. Every roulette bet has a house edge, so over time the casino wins, and no betting system changes that. A system that wins most nights can still lose large amounts on the nights it fails. Never gamble money you cannot afford to lose, and gambling is only legal for adults where you live.
