Car clubs from across SoCal are out in force today — supporting each other, showing pride, and keeping the tradition alive. This is more than a car show. It’s a community gathering built on decades of shared passion for chrome, hydraulics, and the simple joy of cruising low and slow. A little history: Lowrider culture took root in post-WWII Southern California, especially in Mexican-American neighborhoods of East LA and beyond. Returning veterans and young builders customized cars to ride “low and slow,” creating a distinct style and identity. Car clubs grew out of that scene as brotherhoods (and sisterhoods) that offered friendship, mutual support, and a way to express pride through rolling art. From legendary early clubs to strong chapters throughout the Inland Empire, the culture has endured. San Bernardino itself earned a reputation as “the car town” for its legendary cruising days along E Street and Route 66.
