I feel ugly most times. And I know this sounds stupid becase if there's one thing we are always taught, it is to love ourselves. Right from when we are little, we are taught to look at ourselves as 'pretty' little princesses or handsome 'strong' boys. But the thing is, society never tells you that at times, doubts will creep in and you will find it difficult to look in the mirror and go "I'm so beautiful." And what's worse is that this is talked about a lot nowadays yet nothing changes. The journey is one of repetitions and endless falling down and forgetting to get up. In the journey to fully loving oneself, one major aspect is involved and that is self-confidence. You know, that phenomenon that immediately conjures up in your head, a man or woman striding into an office with power exuding from their steps, face strict and poised, whilst putting on a well-ironed suit that gives the message of "I am not to be messed with." One thing we often then dwell back to when this happens is, "Why can't that be me?", "Why do I not feel that way?", "Why am I not confident?" Most times, in a bid to answer this question, we misdirect the actions to be taken and think outward appearance is enough to seal the plot, or silence the doubts. It isn't. It's one of the actions that can be taken but true self-confidence is a journey that begins from within, because the truth is: the outward changes, the inward becomes the only thing that remains. So, in situations like that, what then becomes the channel to which you focus your confidence on. It has to become on yourself and not on clothes, shoes, hair, appearance. This does not negate the importance in appearance, it just clarifies that it is not everything there is to self-confidence. I'll be discussing that with you in this video.
