After looking for a destination that could offer adventure, something different to explore, plenty of experiences and still fit within a reasonable budget, we decided to visit the Statue of Unity, dedicated to India’s Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Standing at an incredible 182 metres, SOU is not just a statue but a huge tourist destination surrounded by the Narmada River, Sardar Sarovar Dam, mountains, gardens, museums, viewpoints and several adventure and entertainment attractions. In this episode: 🚆 Our Journey to Ekta Nagar: We travel from Mumbai/Dadar to Ekta Nagar by train, choosing the convenient overnight option so that we could reach early in the morning and have almost the entire day to explore SOU. 📍 How to Reach Statue of Unity: We explain the railway, road and flight options, including Ekta Nagar Railway Station, Vadodara and Ahmedabad, so you can choose the best route according to your location, budget and timing. 🚌 Free AC Bus Service: From Ekta Nagar Railway Station, we take the SOU administration’s free AC bus service towards the Statue of Unity entry area and share our experience of the journey. 🎟️ SOU Ticket Information: We cover the basic Entry Ticket, Viewing Gallery ticket, Express Entry and other important ticket-related information, along with practical advice about online and offline booking. 🗼 Statue of Unity Viewing Gallery: One of the biggest highlights of our trip was going up to the 153-metre-high Viewing Gallery inside the statue. We finally chose the Ekta Cruise, which gave us a completely different perspective of the Statue of Unity, Narmada River and surrounding hills. 🌅 Our Evening & Return Journey: After completing our main activities, we enjoy the evening views of SOU before taking the free bus back to Ekta Nagar Railway Station, collecting our luggage from the clock room and waiting for our return train.
