The Real Reason You Feel Unstable on Your Horse | Solange Ellis

If you've taken riding lessons for years but still feel unstable, nervous, uncomfortable, or like your body just won't do what your instructor is asking, Solange Ellis says there may be a reason. In this educational webinar from Double D Trailers, Solange Ellis, creator of the Stable Riding System, challenges some of the traditional ideas riders have been taught about "correct" riding position. Solange explains why a position that looks right isn't necessarily a position that makes you stable, and why riding instruction needs to account for the individual rider's body instead of trying to fit everyone into the same mold. You'll hear Solange discuss: • Why traditional riding instruction doesn't always prioritize rider stability • Deep seat vs. light seat and where your support should actually come from • Why some riders struggle to access their seat bones or stirrups for support • The problem with treating shoulder-hip-heel alignment as a one-size-fits-all rule • How body type, height, proportions, injuries, and riding history affect your position • The connection Solange sees between instability, fear, and confidence in the saddle • Why a more stable rider can help create a more balanced horse • How riders with complex body histories can adapt their riding instead of fighting their bodies Solange has spent more than two decades teaching riders and developed the Stable Riding System to help riders understand how their individual bodies work on horseback. Whether you're a beginner, a lifelong rider, returning after an injury, or simply wondering why traditional riding advice has never quite worked for you, this conversation may change the way you think about your position in the saddle.
