Following Assetto Corsa EVO v0.4.1, I wanted to take a deeper look at how realistic the simulation really is — especially from the perspective of a real-world racing driver. While there’s a lot of potential, there are some key issues that Kunos Simulazioni still need to address. In this video, I break down the fundamental principles of driving technique that underpin real-world racing, explain the approach the game currently uses, and highlight where Assetto Corsa EVO struggles — particularly in its physics model and force feedback. These shortcomings make it harder for the car to communicate what I experience behind the wheel in real life, especially when driving at the limit. I’ve previously used the original Assetto Corsa as a genuine tool to help prepare for real-world racing, and my hope is that Assetto Corsa EVO can eventually reach that same level of realism — and ultimately go beyond it.
