Borrowdale/ Eagle Crag/ Sergeant's Crag/Lining Crag/Lake District

Free parking at Stonethwaite by phone box (approx 5cars) and various location along the road into Stonethwaite. The route follows the Stonethwaite Beck to Galleny Force then along Greenup Gill. Plenty of waterfalls and pools for a swim. The route then fords the Gill ( no bridge) to head up Eagle Crag over a steep stile ( tricky for a dog. It's then a fantastic ridge to Sergeant"s Crag with views into Langstrath and over to The Scafells. The route then heads over another steep stile towards Long Crag and Lining Crag. It is possible to see the remains of morains as this is a glacial valley. The route then returns along Greenup Gill.
