Автор: Сергій Буйний (2026 р.) In a far-off quiet harbor town, A merchant stood with a crooked crown, A reckless crew and a captain sly — With a devil’s grin in his eye. They loaded the ship — not hay, not grain, But iron nails for a trader’s gain, Fifteen crates and rum by the ton — Forty barrels of wicked fun! Heave away! Turn that sail! Storm is rising, hear her wail! Fifteen men on a dead man’s chest — Yo-ho-ho! Drink with the rest! Drink it down till the devil calls, Till you stumble and you fall — Yo-ho-ho! And a bottle of rum! Drink, me lads — your time will come! The tide rolled in and the wind blew free, They sailed at dawn to the open sea, Fish below and the land grew small — No turning back at all. Nine days sailing, the waters calm, On the tenth came a shadow dark and long, On the horizon, black and grim — A hunter closing in. Twelve black cannons like teeth they bared, Two ranks of soldiers already there, Steel on deck and death in line — And none would cross that brine. Smoke rose white in the morning sky, The captain cursed — “No passin’ by!” “To arms, me dogs!” the order came — And up flew the banner of flame! Wind in the riggin’, ropes pulled tight, Two ships crashing side by side, Hooks flew out and the boards were tied — Nowhere left to hide! Blades like fire in the air would swing, Steel on steel with a deadly ring, Blood and teeth and the clash so wild — No mercy for man or child! Heave away! Let ’em fall! No one’s leaving here at all! Fifteen men on a dead man’s chest — Yo-ho-ho! Who’ll outlast? Drink it down, let the madness run, Laugh with death and face the sun — Yo-ho-ho! And a bottle of rum! Sing, me lads — we’re all undone! But some survived, the lucky few, They took the spoils and the cargo too, Cut the hooks and pushed away — No time left to stay. At break of dawn the truth was plain, Fifteen bodies in silent pain, Cold as life but gone as breath — A deck of drifting death. “Take the gold!” the captain cried, “We’ll sell it well on the other side!” But the crew just grinned — they’d had enough — And answered back with rough. The carpenter stood with a heavy stare, “No port for us — no mercy there,” They cut the captain, threw him wide — And fed him to the tide. Heave away! Let him sink! That’s the price for greed and drink! Fifteen men on a dead man’s chest — Yo-ho-ho! No rest! Drink it down till the last man drops, Till the heart and the beating stops — Yo-ho-ho! And a bottle of rum! Hell’s below — and there we come! By the night a storm broke loose, Winds like chains no man could loose, Masts came down and the sky turned black — No turning back. Ten days drifting in the sun, Water gone and nowhere to run, Only rum in the barrels deep — And death that does not sleep. Now the ship just drifts along, Gold still gleams but all is wrong, Nails on deck and the rum still flows — Where it ends… none knows. Heave away… turn that sail… Hear the dying ocean wail… Fifteen men on a dead man’s chest… Yo-ho-ho… lay to rest…
