Eddie started cleaning showcases in his uncle's Diamond District watch shop at 10 or 11 years old. He dropped out of college, got sent to work at the shop as punishment, and was there as his uncle built it into one of the biggest watch dealers in New York. Then he left for the music business, closed his studio, and came back to start over from square one with no workers and no watchmakers. He rebuilt Watch Hospital into a repair operation with seven watchmakers that now gets watches shipped in from around the world.
Key moments: buying his first Ferrari in 2001, how he spots a fake Rolex, the white gold watch he dented as a kid, the $800,000-range watches on his bench, cracking a Jacob & Co. repair in a day and a half, why he stopped touching super clones, the comment that almost made him quit social media, and his read on 36mm watches and which trends are overpriced.
