What will really matter when you reach the end of your life? As King David nears death, he calls his son Solomon to his side and gives him one final charge. After a lifetime of victories, failures, blessings, regrets, battles, and lessons, David knows what matters most: walk with God and remain faithful to Him. In this final message from the Shaped in the Shadows series, Pastor Scott Beardsley walks through 1 Kings 2:1-4 and David’s final words to Solomon. David could have focused on the throne, the kingdom, wealth, power, or his accomplishments. Instead, he pointed the next generation toward God. This message challenges us to consider the legacy we’re building, the faith we’re passing on, and whether we’re spending our lives on things that will matter when our final chapter is written. One day the possessions, titles, accomplishments, and recognition will all be left behind. But knowing Christ, faithfully walking with God, loving the people He has entrusted to us, and pointing the next generation toward Him. That's what really matters in the end.
