Description of Video:
The RPK-16, the bigger brother to the 6P70 AK-12, indeed saw combat across the world; not only in Syria but also, hardly known, Ukraine. The weapon was developed against the backdrop of the Tokar 1 and 2 programs and the MoD's Ratnik modernization program. The gun's origins actually started with the Molot factory, including the manufacturing and initial development, until Kalashnikov Concern would take over the project. This video will cover its full story from the RPD to the original Light Support Weapon RPK, the RPK-74, RPK-74M, RPK-100s, Vyuga-11 OTs-81, Chuachev's developments, the AK-400, the RPK-400, the Tokar KORD MGs, the PU-21, etc. However things would not pan out and the gun's real legacy would be in video games such as Escape From Tarkov and Girl's Frontline, while 5.45x39mm belt-feds like the VDV's RPL-20 and the OTs-142 attempt to fulfill the gap.
