Prince Abdulaziz confirmed that extraction and refining operations will proceed in full transparency under IAEA safeguards and 123 Agreement standards, backed by a strategic processing partnership between Saudi mining entity Ma'aden, American firm MP Materials, and the US Department of Defense (Pentagon). The discovery provides Washington with a viable pathway to reduce its critical reliance on Beijing, which currently dominates over 80 percent of global rare earth processing.
