Drone roof survey. How much detail can you get?

In this video, I conduct a drone roof survey of a roof in Wembley. Access to the roof was challenging, which is why we opted for a drone roof survey instead of a direct, on-roof inspection. You’ll see in the video how closely the drone can approach the flashings and roof elements, enabling a thorough assessment from various angles. I also explain in detail the findings and outline how I will compile the roof survey report. This roof survey was requested by the insurance company, as the landlord needs to renew the property insurance and ensure the roof is in good condition. As observed in the video, while the roof itself is generally sound, the flashings are not in ideal condition. Additionally, the roof requires cleaning and minor maintenance. In my roof condition survey report, I will specify that, with cleaning and maintenance, the roof could perform well for another 3 to 4 years. Though the roof survey does not require comments on external issues, I will privately note other observations, such as defective pointing on the surrounding parapet walls. These insights will help the landlord plan for comprehensive maintenance, ensuring the roof and its surroundings are properly maintained to achieve another few years of leak-proof durability.
