MGI 2026 RESULTS vs HOT PICKS: Who FLOPPED, Who PROVED Them Right?

Miss Grand International 2026 is officially over — and now we can finally compare the HOT PICKS with the REAL results! After weeks of tracking rankings from pageant pages around the world, Tanzania's Jihan Mohin Dimachk ultimately took the Miss Grand International 2026 crown. But now that we know the results, I went back to the hot-pick data we collected throughout the competition... and some of those predictions were surprisingly accurate, while others were WAY off. In this video, we're looking at the relationship between the hot picks and the actual MGI 2026 results. Tanzania was consistently one of the strongest contestants in our data — and ultimately WON. Guatemala, Ecuador and Vietnam were also repeatedly appearing in hot picks and eventually reached the Final 5. But what happened to some of the other favorites? Brazil was one of the most consistently predicted contestants — but missed the Top 25. USA appeared in almost every hot-pick list we tracked, but stopped at Top 25. Czech Republic was highly ranked heading into the final, but also stopped at Top 25. And then there's Angelica Lopez. Philippines appeared in 23 out of 23 hot-pick selections in our dataset, including numerous Top 5 and Top 10 placements. Angelica ultimately made the Top 25, but did not advance to the Top 11 — ending the Philippines' bid for an MGI three-peat. So were the hot picks actually accurate? Which contestants lived up to the hype? Who exceeded expectations? And who did the pageant community completely overestimate?
