Name: Al-Kahf (The Cave) Number: 18th chapter of the Qur’an Verses: 110 (Makkan revelation) Context: Revealed in response to questions posed by Quraysh (after consulting Jewish rabbis) about the People of the Cave, Dhul-Qarnayn, and the Soul. Virtue: Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Whoever memorizes ten verses from the beginning (or end) of Surah Al-Kahf will be protected from the Dajjal.” 🌟 Main Themes Faith (People of the Cave – verses 9–26) Young believers took refuge in a cave to protect their faith. Allah preserved them for centuries, showing His power and mercy. Wealth (Parable of the Two Gardens – verses 32–44) A rich man became arrogant over his gardens, while the poor man remained faithful. Lesson: worldly wealth is temporary; true success lies in faith. Knowledge (Musa and al-Khidr – verses 60–82) Prophet Musa (Moses) learned humility when traveling with al-Khidr, who demonstrated divine wisdom beyond human understanding. Teaches patience and trust in Allah’s plan. Power (Dhul-Qarnayn – verses 83–99) A just ruler traveled widely, helping people and building a barrier against Gog and Magog. Shows how power must be used with justice and humility.
