Can the fall of an entire dynasty truly be blamed on a woman who held so little power over its fate? Through BAO SI, I seek to revisit the legend of the Western Zhou Dynasty's downfall from the perspective of the woman history has so often condemned. My intention is not simply to portray the fall of a kingdom, but to explore the lives overshadowed by grand historical narratives, the responsibility of those who hold power, and the ways history chooses whom to blame.
