This Is Where the Legend of the Knights Templar in Scotland Began

Today we explore the village called Temple and the Old Temple Kirk near Gorebridge in Scotland. The land was gifted to the Knights Templar Order around 1128 by King David the 1st so they could set up their very first Preceptory in Scotland. This is a very old and historic place in Scotland and although it’s seen better days it still stands and is free to visit and wander around the grounds and graveyard. It is from here the Templars oversaw all their estates and interests in Scotland.
