Walk with me through Kunming, China, starting at one of the city’s most atmospheric places — Green Lake (Cuihu Park / 翠湖公园) — and continuing through the real streets surrounding it. This is not a collection of tourist highlights. It is a chance to experience Kunming as it actually looks at this moment: the lake, park paths, local streets, people going about their day, traffic, shops, residential buildings and the everyday rhythm of the city. 🌿 Green Lake / Cuihu Park sits right in the heart of Kunming and feels completely woven into everyday city life. Locals walk here, meet friends, exercise, sit by the water and simply spend time outside. Around the lake, the park gradually gives way to ordinary Kunming streets — and that transition is exactly what I wanted to capture. This walk is about place and time: not just where we are, but what this part of Kunming feels like right now, during the lush late-summer season. No “Top 10 attractions.” No postcard-only version of China. No rushing from one landmark to another.
