The Alchemy of Theme

Theme. The backbone of our stories. A twisting, turning, unpredictable but rewarding journey - crafted in hopes of staying with our readers forever. But how do we begin this journey? What ingredients go into crafting a unique and powerful theme that will impact our readers and leave them with food for thought? In this video, we're breaking down a few examples from brilliant stories like The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, A Hidden Life, and a few books from my own series, The Blood Race. So grab some scrap paper and a pen - and maybe something warm to drink, and let's explore this incredibly compelling topic: themes... and the opportunity we have as writers to leave an impact on our readers forever. thank you so much for being here 🙏 kate ✨best way to support me & what I make here ✨   / kaemmons   OR visit my etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/VermontBoho 💛 Get my books: The Blood Race: https://amzn.to/34JLdlE Worlds Beneath: https://amzn.to/35SAvbI Resurgence: https://amzn.to/37WUEQT Anomaly: https://www.amazon.com/Anomaly-Blood-... I believe that story is art - that it's sacred, and that it is and has always been a force that changes and shapes our world. That's why I write, and that's why I create videos (even co-produced an environmental film). I consider the world my home, and enjoy submerging in unique cultures nearly as much as I love submerging in the ocean and riding the waves. I am the author of the young adult urban fantasy series The Blood Race, and am currently working on several new series's. Though I can be hard to find, I am easy to reach (and very fun to talk to) at: kate@kaemmons.com
