Battlefield is Going Full Call of Duty...

Battlefield 6’s Season 5 patch notes are making one thing clear: DICE is giving in to Call of Duty, and I don’t mean that as a compliment. Reading through the RedSec changes, the loot pool now adds class gadgets like the smoke launcher, supply bag, breaching dart, and anti-drone gun to ground crates, which shrinks the role classes play in the mode. Then there’s Rapid Royale, a near copy of Warzone Resurgence that arrives at the cost of Gauntlet, a far more unique mode DICE gave up on. This comes right after a Battlefield Studios VP talked about never chasing trends. Meanwhile RedSec sits at a couple thousand Twitch viewers while Warzone pulls tens of thousands, and Modern Warfare is about to drop.
