SMORR, Oct 2026 – Rocky Road

I again was able to join the Old Iron Trail Run with some friends at Southern Missouri Off-Road Ranch, my sixth time at this event. It was a smaller group this year with only 4 vehicles, Alan in his CJ-3a, Kris in his early CJ5, Jerrod in his CJ-7 and my Bronco rounding out the group. Some people have run this trail every year. I’ve watched them and said I was never going to take my Bronco on it! Until last year. People made it look safe enough that I thought I MIGHT try it next year. Well, it’s next year. Alan went up first and made it look easy. Then I went. You’re welcome Jerrod for showing you that Alan lied! In the end I’m glad I ran it because it was a huge feeling of accomplishment to finish the trail without causing any damage. But avoiding damage required too much luck that I don’t want to count on, and I was completely drained after finishing. So again I’m saying there’s no way I’ll take my Bronco on this trail!
