On the seventh working day of the 8th session of the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, during the fourth sitting, the Kashag (Cabinet) of the Central Tibetan Administration proposed an amendment to the constitution to include two Jonang representatives in the composition of the Parliament. However, the proposal could not be passed as it failed to secure the required two-thirds majority in the Parliament. On September 19th, a press conference was called by representatives of Jonang monasteries, on behalf of the International Jonang Well-being Association to appeal the parliamentarians to consider the matter in the upcoming session.
