2022 Triumph Speed Triple 1200RS Dies on Track. I had the opportunity to ride at the recently repaved surface at Laguna Seca for 6 days. I brought the 2022 Speed Triple 1200RS as one of my rides, as it's a great track bike and quieter than my piped and tuned RSV4, which the last two days went from 103db to 92db. I was having a situation where the bike would stay on but the motor would die and lose all power. Not limp home mode but flat-out shut-off. All the electrics was on and active. It was truly frightening on the track in key corners (turn 2, 5, and at the top of the corkscrew) but the worst was just over the top of turn 1 which is really just the back side of the straight, which the riders could be coming over a blind rise at well over 140mph. After it would sit upright for a couple of minutes would fire right back up. I went through all the possible concerns, Switches, key batteries, side stand switch, ABS sensors, and battery terminal. It has just had a service and all the recent warranty recalls. I remember a friend's Tiger 800 had shut off on a ride and was a low oil sensor. So I ended up adding about a quart of oil (was showing about 1/3 full in the sight glass to 3/4 full). After that, it never died again. I can only assume that the hardest corners and slightly low oil level would trigger the sensor and kill the motor.
