You tried to wash the night away, but some parts of you refuse to disappear. EVARA LOUD - Glitter in the Laundromat is a strange melancholic pop-rock song about trying to remove every trace of the person you became under the lights, only to discover that not everything shining inside you needs to be erased. At two in the morning, EVARA brings her red stage jacket to an empty laundromat. As the machines turn, silver glitter spreads through the water and transforms an ordinary room into a reminder of the life she thought she had left behind. The song begins with performance residue as something unwanted. By the final chorus, it becomes proof that EVARA can leave the stage without abandoning herself. Glitter in the Laundromat is Track 6 from AFTER THE APPLAUSE, an album about what happens when the crowd stops singing back and silence becomes harder to face than noise. For listeners drawn to emotional pop-rock, confessional arena rock, cinematic rock visualizers, night-drive synth rock, and the broad audience lane around Heart, Pat Benatar, The Killers, and theatrical modern rock. Which line stayed with you? LYRICS Quarter in the silver mouth Round and round, the lights go out Two in the morning, nobody here Just humming machines and fluorescent fear My red stage jacket turns behind the glass Like it still believes the show can last Mascara sleeping under my eyes Sequins caught where the daylight hides I emptied my pockets onto a plastic chair A receipt, one rose, and a piece of everywhere I poured in the soap I turned the dial Watched my old life circle for a while There’s glitter in the laundromat Silver in the turning black I throw the whole night in the wash But everything comes shining back There’s glitter in the laundromat Like the stage knows where I’m at I came here trying to get clean Now every ordinary thing gleams Round and round It follows me Round and round Bright debris A woman by the dryers folds her sheets She does not know who I used to be But one small spark lands on her sleeve She brushes once, then lets it be The washers sound like distant hands A soft applause from empty stands I stare at my face in the vending machine Half of a woman, half of a screen I poured in the soap I killed the light Still found a silver trace of Saturday night There’s glitter in the laundromat Silver in the turning black I throw the whole night in the wash But everything comes shining back There’s glitter in the laundromat Like the stage knows where I’m at I came here trying to get clean Now every ordinary thing gleams Round and round It follows me Round and round Bright debris Then every machine stops at once No spinning drums, no borrowed pulse No crowd inside the fluorescent air Just me and the jacket hanging there I press my hand against the glass Not every shining thing must last I came here to get clean Not to disappear There’s glitter in the laundromat Silver in the turning black I washed the whole night from my clothes But some of me came shining back There’s glitter in the laundromat And maybe I can live with that I do not need the stage to see There’s still a little light in me Round and round Then let it be Round and round A little light in me Quarter in the silver mouth Morning comes The lights go out Subscribe for the next EVARA LOUD release from AFTER THE APPLAUSE. #EmotionalRock #PopRock #CinematicRock #EVARALOUD #AIMusic
