How to Make a (Messy) Journal Plus Free Printable Scans

Today I am making a messy journal. It is part illustrated journal and part art journal and I am going to take it with me to Italy where I am attending a week-long workshop in Italy on Medieval inkmaking. This handmade book is a nice size and weight and will be just right for a week's visual diary entries. It starts with tea-dyed watercolour paper and from there I add a variety of found papers that I have in my stash of coffee table books, magazines, and other art journal fodder. The papers are assembled then sewn together with a three-hole stitch and hey, presto, it's a blank book art journal ready for drawing, painting, collaging, and memory making.
