After the game, after the Red Wings won 4-1 over the NJ Devils, they had a ceremony honoring current and past players, staff, and coaches. At the very end of the ceremony everyone, crowd included, was asked to raise their sticks one more time in a salute to one of the greatest sports arenas and hockey barns to ever exist. Here are some of the other "lasts" in the history of Joe Louis Arena: Last save - Jimmy Howard on New Jersey's Beau Bennett with four seconds left. Last Red Wings shot - Justin Abdelkader on Corey Schneider with 10 seconds showing on the clock. Last penalty - New Jersey's Stefan Noesen for hooking Gustav Nyquist with 3:14 to play. Last assist - Frans Nielsen, who set up Sheahan's second goal after taking a pass from Dylan Larkin. Last Red Wings penalty - Darren Helm for slashing Andy Green with 5:47 remaining. Last fight - Anthony Mantha vs. Tampa Bay's Greg McKegg at 2:33 of the second period in the Lightning's 2-1 overtime victory March 24. Last shutout - St. Louis' Carter Hutton Feb. 15, when he made 25 saves in the Blues 2-0 win. Last Red Wings shutout - Jared Coreau, who made 18 saves in a 1-0 win over Montreal on Jan. 16. Last shootout goal - Evgeny Svechnikov in a 4-3 win over Ottawa on April 3. Last overtime goal - Montreal's Alex Galchenyuk in a 3-2 win April 8. Last Red Wings overtime goal - Andreas Athanasiou in a 3-2 win over Minnesota on March 26. Last Red Wings hat trick - Tomas Tatar in a 6-4 win over Anaheim on Dec. 17, 2016. Last octopus to hit the ice - No. 35 for the night.
