American Bittern Settling into Winter Home

In the Florida Panhandle, American Bittern are seen during the non-breeding season. At IP Wetlands, a private wetlands my husband and I survey, 2 of these beautiful birds have recently begun settling in. The birds have an abundance of places at this location where they are able to remain out of sight of us, and we are restricted to the limited paths that cut through the wetlands. It is always a treat when one decides to feed close enough to the path for us to enjoy watching! This video was shot with a Canon r7 camera and a Canon 100-500 mm lens. This bird is real and not a product of AI. AI was not used in the editing of this video. IP Wetlands is not open to the public.
