Amelia & Toni: Their Story on Grey’s Anatomy So Far | S22 E14

Lesbian and sapphic Grey’s Anatomy fans finally have a storyline worth paying attention to — because Amelia Shepherd and Toni Wright are not slowing down. Grey’s Anatomy Season 22 Episode 14 keeps building that queer tension, and at this point, Amelia’s new storyline feels very real. After years of crumbs, detours, and heartbreak, Amelia finally has a sapphic connection that doesn’t feel buried under tragedy or hesitation. What started as an old med school connection with Dr. Toni Wright has now turned into one of the most interesting dynamics on the show. Played by Jen Landon, Toni came in with history, confidence, and unfinished tension — and the energy between her and Amelia landed immediately. Not because Grey’s Anatomy dragged it out for half a season, but because the chemistry was there from the start. That’s what makes this storyline hit differently. It’s not just about representation for the sake of it. It’s about finally seeing Amelia in something that feels alive, adult, and emotionally charged without immediately collapsing into pain. After everything the show has put her through, this storyline feels like a shift. And in Episode 14, that shift still matters. Grey’s Anatomy has always had a complicated history with queer storylines. Sometimes it gets it right, sometimes it fumbles badly. But with Amelia and Toni, the show finally seems to understand that queer women on screen do not need to be reduced to trauma to be compelling. Jen Landon, best known to many U.S. viewers for playing Teeter on Yellowstone, brings a grounded but magnetic energy to Toni — and that contrast with Amelia is a big part of why this works. More than two decades in, Grey’s Anatomy is still finding new ways to tell love stories. And this one, at least right now, feels like one worth watching. 📺 Watch: Grey’s Anatomy Season 22 on ABC Thursdays • Streaming next day on Hulu Cast: Caterina Scorsone as Dr. Amelia Shepherd Jen Landon as Dr. Toni Wright Kim Raver as Dr. Teddy Altman Sophia Bush as Dr. Cass Beckman Natalie Morales as Dr. Monica Beltran Adelaide Kane as Jules Millin Midori Francis as Mika Yasuda E.
