Sisig is a popular Filipino dish made with crispy, chopped pork seasoned with onions, chili peppers, and calamansi. Traditionally served sizzling hot, sisig is a favorite Filipino pulutan, appetizer, or delicious meal served with rice.
Recipe:
4 lbs / 2 kilos of lechon kawali chop or cut in small pieces
2 pieces of red and yellow onions chop in small pieces
8 pieces of thai chillies chopped
Sauce:
1 small bottle of calamansi juice
1 small can of liver spread (reno or palm)
½ cup of spiced vinegar - pinakurat
4 tbs of knorr seasoning soy sauce
Black pepper
Cooking Steps:
Preheat the cookware
Add butter or olive oil
Stir fry the chopped lechon kawali
Add ½ portion of onions and chillies and mix well with the lechon kawali
Add the sauce as desired amount
Set aside the sauce if some needed extra
Before serving garnish another ½ portion of onions and chillies
