Edit album photos in Lightroom with your own presets and round trip them straight back into your album design software, without ever touching the original file. BookProofs Designer 1.3.9 adds non-destructive external editing for Photoshop, Lightroom Classic and any editor you add, plus a Return Folder that pulls Lightroom exports back into the exact placeholder they left.
Two problems every wedding and portrait photographer hits in album design software:
1. Destructive editing. Send a photo to Photoshop from your album designer, save, and the original is overwritten forever.
2. No Lightroom round trip. Your black and white and stylized presets live in Lightroom, not Photoshop, so matching an album photo to the rest of your edit meant exporting, hunting for the file and re-importing by hand.
BookProofs Designer 1.3.9 solves both:
• Non-destructive is now the default. Edit in Photoshop (or any editor) hands the app a copy. Your project switches to the copy and the original stays untouched, with edits saved to an Edited Images folder inside your project folder. Switch to Destructive under Image Editors in Settings if you want the old behavior.
• Return Folder for Lightroom. Right-click any photo or group of photos, choose Edit in Adobe Lightroom Classic, apply your presets, and export to the Return Folder (created for you in Documents). Keep the filename the same and the edit drops back into the same placeholder with its crop and spread placement intact.
• Quick import from any app. Export new filenames into the Return Folder from any application and they are added to your Photo Library, or you are asked to add them the next time the project opens.
