The Danger of Choosing Darkness Over Your Kingdom Inheritance

Scriptures: Ephesians 5:3-14. Every choice carries a consequence. Esau exchanged his birthright for one meal (Genesis 25:29–34; Hebrews 12:16–17). Judas exchanged fellowship with Jesus for thirty pieces of silver (Matthew 26:14–16, 47–50; Matthew 27:3–5). Samson exchanged his strength and divine assignment for temporary sensual pleasure (Judges 16:4–21). Demas exchanged ministry companionship for love of the present world (2 Timothy 4:10). In each case, something valuable was traded for something temporary. It turned out to be a dangerous exchange. This is the danger Paul addresses in Ephesians 5. He is warning believers not to exchange their kingdom inheritance for the passing pleasures of darkness. Be blessed!
