Patterdale Terriers- More Patterdale Puppies Working Rats

Another puppy video-we try to do some sort of work with the pups most days. Seems a handful of you enjoy watching so we videoed tonights rat work. Pups are progressing well. "Cricket" is the lil black female in this video- she is a couple weeks younger than the litter we are working her with but shes doing great! We actually lost her first rat as it escaped under a barrel then under some concrete in the bottom of the puppy pen. We brought Lil Bit out towards the end to find the lost rat ( She is the mother of Brawler-Goosey and Melee in the video) In the end it turned out to be a blessing because the pups got to watch their mom do some real work in locating and even joined in the work! I was really happy with that and may even incorporate it into some of our future training. You learn as you go Hope some of you enjoy the video- I hope to take the pups with Lil Bit and Boomer to the creek soon so they can watch their parents on a real hunt and learn from it. Working puppies has always been our favorite part of the sport- even more so than taking quarry in the woods. We REALLY enjoy watching puppies progress
