It began with a grieving father, a stolen corpse, and a dying woman's last word. This is the full story of Nathaniel Essex: a Victorian scientist who believed humanity was on the verge of a genetic leap, who lost his son and his soul, and who accepted a dark bargain from Apocalypse that would reshape mutant history for over a century. From the halls of the Royal Society to the sewers of London, from Rebecca Essex's dying condemnation to the transformation that created the red diamond — this is how a man became Mister Sinister.
