From the classroom to the court, Rachit is thriving at school with the help of his cochlear implants

Thanks to the early detection of Rachit’s hearing loss, and subsequent intervention of his cochlear implants, Rachit is succeeding at school both academically and in the sporting arena. Rachit’s favourite subject is Mathematics and he is regularly among the top students in his class. He also he recently won a medal in lawn tennis. “If I were unable to hear then how would I go to school?” Rachit said. Parents Raj and Reena dealt with shock and fear when Rachit was initially diagnosed, but his success at school has since extinguished those emotions. “It was very shocking news for us, and we were unable to believe that this had happened,” Raj said. “But as soon as we came to hear about the cochlear implant solution, we were relieved. “If we had not got the implant, neither of us would have been able to talk with him nor would we have been able to share any feelings with him.
