Stockers on stockpiled spring growth and starting late spring/summer rotation - Episode 138

It’s the end of May and stockers are back to the weedy field where they started spring grazing - fescue, orchard grass, and timothy have gone to seed: johnson grass is coming up now and will probably be ready to graze sometime in June. So far this spring in Virginia we’ve had adequate soil moisture and rains - so we’ve grown a lot of forage at Archwood and are looking forward to grazing it and trampling some of it back onto the soil surface.
