Released in 1980, the album was titled after the song Yellow Magic Carnival, the original source of the YMO unit name. The album is structured like a radio show with Katsuya Kobayashi's MCs in between the songs, which reminds us of their admiration for American oldies. All the songs on this album are excellent, including the A6, which features the chunky sound of Haruomi Hosono, and the B3, which features Yoshitaka Minami's simple vocals.(naka)
