Cherokee Stickball for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians

For those who’ve never seen it, a game of Cherokee stickball is, well, intense. Really intense. And it has a language that’s all its own. Resembling a game of lacrosse, only without the helmets, pads, and protective gear, and tossing in some of the hard-hitting tackling seen in American football, stickball is not for the faint of heart or squeamish. But if you love sports and are intrigued by Cherokee Indian culture and history, it’s a must see. This video was originally created for its debut at a Georgia Swarm lacrosse match, but it makes a great introduction to the sport for you.
