Come along with me as I explore Karachi Zoo in 2026 and take you through one of the oldest and most popular family attractions in Karachi. In this Karachi Zoo vlog, I am covering the animals, major attractions, zoo sections, ticket price, timings, rides, aquarium, Reptile House, gardens, and the complete visitor experience.
Karachi Zoo, also known as the Karachi Zoological and Botanical Garden, has been part of Karachi since 1870 and spreads across approximately 43 acres. It remains a popular place to visit in Karachi for families, children, and tourists.
If you are searching for Karachi Zoo 2026, Karachi Zoo full tour, Karachi Zoo ticket price, Karachi Zoo timings, Karachi Zoo animals, Karachi Zoo vlog, or places to visit in Karachi, I am covering everything you need to know in this video.
KARACHI ZOO TIMINGS
Karachi Zoo is open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The zoo operates seven days a week, but Wednesdays are reserved for women and children only.
KARACHI ZOO TICKET PRICE
The current Karachi Zoo entrance ticket price is PKR 30 per person. That makes it an affordable family outing option in Karachi.
ANIMALS AT KARACHI ZOO
During my Karachi Zoo tour, I explore the animal areas featuring African lions, a white lion, chimpanzees, crocodiles, puma, python, rhesus monkeys, Syrian brown bears, spotted deer, fallow deer, white fallow deer, gazelle, black buck, nilgai, mouflon, urial, miniature horses, porcupines, jackals, civet cats, ostriches, cassowaries, flamingos, pelicans, blue peacocks, white peacocks, green winged macaws, tortoises, and other animals and birds around the zoo.
KARACHI ZOO REPTILE HOUSE
I also check out the Karachi Zoo Reptile House, which is one of the more interesting sections of the zoo. It includes tortoises, crocodiles, and different varieties of poisonous and non poisonous snakes.
KARACHI ZOO AQUARIUM
Another section I explore is the Karachi Zoo Aquarium. The original Fish Aquarium was built in 1953 near Gate No. 2 and includes 28 exhibition tanks with hundreds of fish representing different species. There is also a newer aquarium covering approximately 2,150 square feet, with additional exhibition tanks for visitors to explore.
MUGHAL GARDEN AND GREEN AREAS
Karachi Zoo is not just about animal enclosures. I also walk through the Mughal Garden, which was established in 1960 and includes lawns, seasonal plants, fountains, and Mughal inspired structures.
There are also large green areas throughout the zoo with historic trees, including banyan, tamarind, and neem trees. Some of the trees are described as being more than 200 years old.
KARACHI ZOO WATERFALLS
There are also two artificial waterfalls inside Karachi Zoo. One is located near the lion cages, while another is located near Imli Road in front of the Mughal Garden.
OTHER KARACHI ZOO ATTRACTIONS
The major Karachi Zoo attractions include:
Aquarium Facilities
New Fish Aquarium
Green Areas
Mughal Garden
Reptile House
Natural History Museum
Boating Area
Wheeler Train
Historical Fountain
Mumtaz Mahal
Artificial Waterfalls
The Natural History Museum contains preserved indigenous and exotic animal specimens. The boating area and Wheeler Train also add something different for families.
KARACHI ZOO ELEPHANT RIDE
Many people still search for the Karachi Zoo elephant ride because it was one of the attractions people remember from older visits to the zoo.
The elephant ride is no longer part of the current zoo experience, so if you remember riding an elephant here as a child, that has now become part of Karachi Zoo history.
IS KARACHI ZOO WORTH VISITING IN 2026?
That is one of the main questions I wanted to answer in this vlog. I look at the overall Karachi Zoo experience, animals, family attractions, gardens, aquarium, Reptile House, cleanliness, crowd atmosphere, and ticket value.
For PKR 50, Karachi Zoo remains one of the more affordable places to visit in Karachi with family and children.
If you are planning a Karachi family outing, looking for Karachi tourist places, searching for places to visit in Karachi with kids, or simply curious about what Karachi Zoo looks like in 2026, this full Karachi Zoo tour should give you a much better idea before you visit.
When was the last time you visited Karachi Zoo? Which part do you remember the most? Was it the lions, monkeys, aquarium, Reptile House, Mughal Garden, Wheeler Train, crocodiles, birds, or the old elephant ride?
Let me know in the comments, and also tell me which place in Karachi I should explore next.
