Day 2 of the 2026 pumpkin trebuchet build. The 12 ft arm is glued up, so today the uprights get drilled, raised and braced, and the bar goes across the top. THE UPRIGHTS Throwing arm: two 12 ft 2x6s, glued, screwed and clamped Upright holes drilled on the drill press so they are square and line up for the top bar Diagonal braces on both A-frames A couple of uprights were not straight, so they got clamped and tightened New this year: the support bars overlap at the top, which meant three holes to drill Some supports reused from a previous build CHAPTERS 0:00 Intro: the arm is glued, uprights next 0:45 Drilling the uprights 2:02 Raising and bracing the uprights 3:32 Clamping the uprights straight 5:18 Day 2 wrap-up and next steps Next up: buttoning up the frame, wheels on, and first testing.
