Frank Zappa and Hot Rats - Twinkle Tits, Olympic Auditorium, L.A., March 7, 1970

"Twinkle Tits" is an unreleased Frank Zappa composition, here in its one-time only performance. The same players recorded it at The Record Plant, LA, on March 9 & 11, 1970, but this recording remains unavailable. This instrumental contains pieces of "Little House I Used To Live In" and other pieces of music that can't be heard elsewhere. Frank Zappa - guitar Don Sugarcane Harris - violin Ian Underwood - keyboards, sax Max Bennett - bass Aynsley Dunbar - drums Bill Graham was forced to close down operations at the Fillmore West earlier that year and this concert was the first of a series of bi-weekly shows at the Olympic. The concert began promptly at 8:30 Saturday evening with Bigfoot, a popular “honky soul” group from Orange County. They were followed by Mountain, featuring lead guitarist Leslie West and Felix Pappalardi on bass. After the intermission Johnny Winter and his band played a 90-minute set which ended at 12:20. Zappa closed the show with Sharleena, Twinkle Tits, Interlude (aka Another Whole Melodic Section), Directly From My Heart To You, Chunga's Revenge, Willie The Pimp. During this last song, he decorated a microphone stand with audience contributions which included a couple of shirts, a pair of pants, a bra, and several joints.
