AI Bots Will Ruin RuneScape

Original presentation:    • RuneScape Bench: MMOs for Agents | Max Bit...   - I used footage from Max Bittker's presentation to formulate my opinion on how AI bots could completely change RuneScape botting forever. For years, RuneScape bots have relied on scripts, predictable routes and repetitive behaviour. But what happens when bots can actually adapt, solve problems, change strategies and interact with other players? In this video, I look at an experiment where AI agents were given access to a recreation of RuneScape and allowed to train skills, complete objectives, trade, compete for resources and even interact with other AI-controlled accounts. Some of the results are genuinely crazy. The AI discovered new strategies, worked towards long-term goals and, in one experiment, even figured out how to scam other agents for profit. Could this be a glimpse at the future of RuneScape botting? And if AI-controlled bots eventually reach Old School RuneScape, how would Jagex even tell the difference between a bot and a real player? Important: The AI experiments featured in this video were conducted on Lost City / 2004Scape, a community recreation of older RuneScape, and not on the official Old School RuneScape servers.
