Imaginary Border focuses on Aboriginal and Islander experiences, and observes their struggle to feel at home in their native lands. This film by Iranian-born Austrian filmmaker, Alireza Ghanie, was made during his travels around Australia and in the Torres Strait Islands. It is not a film about facts, events and objective analysis. It is rather an expression of compassion and empathy, observational in style, and often lyrical in its imagery and emotion.
