You went to serve Your flock; may I go too!
May I be eager, Lord, to take my stand with You.
I want to be Your hands and feet to the people that I meet;
To speak Your words and do what You would do.
You came in humble form; Lord, may I seek
to crucify my pridefulness and to be meek.
May my priorities align to meet others' needs, not mine.
Through You I can be strong when I am weak.
Though I corrupt the image that I bear,
A dark and clouded mirror though I be,
My every sin, every flaw, every weary care
will be removed when my Redeemer comes for me!
You shone in darkness, Lord; make me a light!
Make me a beacon in the darkness of the night.
May I reflect Your love anew as I point the way to You,
'til night is turned to day and faith to sight.
You loved Your enemies; may I love mine.
To err is human, but forgiveness is divine.
Help me to turn the other cheek; vengeance isn't mine to seek.
Through kindness help me let the gospel shine.
Though I corrupt the image that I bear,
A dark and clouded mirror though I be,
My every sin, every flaw, every weary care
will be removed when my Redeemer comes for me!
When You return to those who spurned You,
every knee will bow.
But You can make me fit to serve You,
as a witness here and now.
You spoke the truth in love, and so may I.
I may not be a preacher, Lord, but I can try
to tell the world that they need You, whether many hear or few.
Forbid it, Lord, that I should just stand by.
Though I corrupt the image that I bear,
A dark and clouded mirror though I be,
My every sin, every flaw, every weary care
will be removed when my Redeemer comes for me!
