Ellur Fort - Watchtower of Main Belagavi Fort (16 July 2026)

Yellur Fort, historically known as Rajhunsgad, was constructed in the 12th century by Beechiraja of Ratta dynasty. Located atop a hillock roughly 15 kilometres south of Belagavi (Belgaum) City in North Karnataka. The fortress sits at a strategic altitude of approximately 2,500 feet above sea level. It was built primarily to serve as an elevated watchtower for the main Belgaum Fort, allowing early detection of enemy forces advancing from a distance
