The Flame Helmet - Cassis flammea (Linnaeus, 1758)

The Flame helmet (Cassis flammea) is the smallest species of the genus Cassis in the western Atlantic. Lives on the variety of substrates, but prefer sand patches where it can bury itself into the sand during the day. Feeds on echinoderms, using its muscular foot to extract echinoderms buried in the sediment.
