9. Wren High School - Hurricanes Band - The Fall

9. Wren High School Hurricanes Band The Fall SCBDA 4A Preliminaries - 2026. Here we are, the culmination of an entire season of practice, hard work, and more practice. There were a few Competitions along the way, but this is it! Other bands from the state met and put all that they had on the field. I was fortunate enough to have been invited, and I'm so glad because it was a truly epic day. We use the word "competition" and that's almost a misnomer, the only people these bands compete with is their past selves. True, some bands have more money and time to get the practices tighter and align with the judges guidelines, but no one band is against another. One band doesn't fail because of another bands actions. The only thing they compete with is their last performance, and all they can do is be better and better each time, and this weekend is when it peeks. To the band directors: You’ve led these students to this point. I hope I can capture (in photos and videos) how good they sound and how vibrant they are—and that the footage is useful as a study aid if you need it. I look forward to working with you again this year. I do this for you. 😎 To all the band members past, present, and future: You are amazing. I didn’t have band growing up, but I watched how much it shaped my own kids. I’m excited to photograph the discipline and work you put into this sport, and I can’t wait to see what this year brings. I do this for you as well. 📸 To all the parents: I hope these pictures catch a moment of your kids the way others once captured mine. Those photos meant a lot to my wife when she needed them, and they let family and friends see things they usually miss. I do this for you. 😊 Thanks for stopping by.
